What is a Blue Zone?
A Blue Zone is a region in the world where people live significantly longer than average, often reaching the age of 100 at a much higher rate than in other global populations. National Geographic and the Blue Zones have documented and characterized these regions by their unique lifestyles, all which share in common lifestyle habits, such as a primarily plant-based diet, regular physical activity, strong community ties, and a dedicated sense of purpose-filled driven lifestyle. All these characteristics combined contribute to the remarkable longevity and lower rates of chronic diseases like heart disease, cancer, and dementia, found within its people with these Zones. The Five Blue Zones of the World are: Nicoya, Costa Rica; Okinawa, Japan; Sardinia, Italy; Ikaria, Greece; and Loma Linda, California.

In Partnership with …

Join us at Pasha Villa with the opportunity to travel with fellow Founders Circle members while enjoying all the extraordinary destination experiences together!
The Pasha Villa welcomes you to experience a cultured well-being retreat.
In travel, the term “cultured trip” is defined by engaging deeply with a destination’s local life, history and traditions, rather than being just a mere tourist experience. It involves encountering the realities of a place beyond the usual attractions, by connecting with locals, trying new foods, and understanding local customs, with the goal of a deeper connection and personal enrichment, rather than a superficial visit.
Escape to a Costa Rican paradise located within one of the World’s Blue Zones – the Nicoya Peninsula – and dwell in the luxurious oasis of the Pasha Villa Beachfront Estate, located on the shores of Playa Hermosa, in the town of Santa Teresa. This sublime location beckons all visitors with its laid-back ambiance mixed with active adventuring and experiences. Guests will be immersed into this pristine Pacific Coast Peninsula region to experience the deeply-rooted culture, stunning beaches, and lush jungles with waterfalls. Enjoy an enriching sugar cane farm tour, designed to learn about the local culture and traditions, considered the key to this prestigious award. In this cultural excursion you’ll engage with a family farm, learning about the sugar extraction process, including tasting an authentic Costa Rica typical meal complete with fresh hen eggs off the farm. In addition, this Peninsula Blue Zone region showcases another cultural tour to the town of Cabuya, an autochthonous village inhabited by people who are the original indigenous inhabitants deeply rooted in this region, which is maintained by local cultural practices that include artisanal fishing. During this educational tour, you will have the opportunity to visit the marvelous beaches, rivers and the giant award-wining trees; visit the famous Cemetery Island the Cabo Blanco absolute reserve which was the first protected area of Costa Rica. As part of the sustainable tour experience, you will visit and learn all about their amazing recycling process and how they clean the local beaches recovering materials that wash ashore to transform them into textiles and microfibers.
The Pasha Villa Beachfront Estate will be your abode to chill, within its beachfront playground that offers excellent surfing spots, diverse regional nature explorations, horseback riding, off-shore and in-shore fishing, in addition to pampering spa treatments – making it a perfect adventure getaway seamlessly paired with personal time to unwind and rejuvenate your body, mind and spirit. Enjoy its healthy-vibes ambiance with its indoor-outdoor luxury beach-chic living spaces, along with its expansive outdoor areas providing hidden spots to be private or gather with favorite friends.
Be pampered and renewed in this beachfront oasis with Pasha paradise service!

Pasha Villa Dining

Pasha Villa And The Blue Zone Diet
Pasha is privileged to be located in Costa Rica’s Nicoya Peninsula, one of the highly regarded 5 Blue Zones of the World — where people live long, healthy lives due to the environment and the diets consumed by the local people.
Food plays a large part in this. At Pasha, every single detail that ends up on a guest’s plate has a footprint that can be personally traced, because the villa supports the local farmers and artisan producers. Pasha selects and serves the freshest, highest quality ingredients year-round, from locally sourced grass-fed beef, hormone-free chicken, responsibly caught seafood, and as many locally produced and organic fruits and vegetables as possible. Costa Rica is also one of the biggest producers of single-origin coffee beans, which is why the kitchen is always equipped throughout the day with an Espresso Machine and traditional pour-over coffee brewer, including a variety of teas and refreshing non-alcoholic fruit-infused beverages.
All Pasha menus are regionally inspired, starting with breakfast. Perfectly balanced meals range from sweet to savory options, including Costa Rican seasonal delicacies and traditional cuisine infused with continental flare. For lunches and dinners, the Pasha Villa’s team of Chefs prepare mouth-watering farm-field-ocean-to-table meals, white catering to any dietary restrictions or allergies guests may have including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free meals.
