DEPOSITS and HOLDS
THIRDHOME Adventures & Custom Travel and its preferred travel partners and/or ground operators require a deposit to be charged up-front upon confirming a participant on an organized Adventure or for any personal travel package arrangements. THIRDHOME Adventures & Custom Travel requires a credit card deposit at the time of booking in order to confirm your spot. Either our preferred travel partner operating the Adventure or custom travel package (or THIRDHOME Travel) will charge your credit card for the stated deposit amount.
In the event that THIRDHOME Travel cancels an Adventure due to not establishing the required number of confirmed participants, alternate options will be provided to members. Depending on the circumstances, either a full or partial refund in the amount of the initial deposit paid to any Member who made such a deposit, subject to also the terms & conditions of our corresponding tour operators and tour partners; OR, an Adventures Credit/transfer of monies paid can be allowed into a new destination-adventure for anytime in the future that a Member would like to join into in lieu of their cancelled original adventure. ADVENTURES COURTESY SPOT-HOLDS
THIRDHOME allows for complimentary spot holds on Adventures for 48-hours.
ADVENTURES EXTENDED SPOT-HOLDS
Any extension beyond the complimentary 48-hours will require a $150 Extended Hold fee at the time of hold request (to be charged to a Member’s credit card). This fee is applicable to the Adventure, if Member decides to book their spot. However if Member opts out of the Adventure, then this fee is non-refundable.
FINAL PAYMENTS, NAME CHANGES and CANCELLATIONS
In the event that THIRDHOME cancels an Adventure and its departure date upon reviewing the “Last-Call” status of confirmed participants, a refund will be processed of the initial deposit paid (with the exception of any Extended Hold Fees that were previously incurred prior to our cancellation as advised above). For any Custom Travel changes, please inquire directly with THIRD HOME Travel for specific fees and/or penalties that would be incurred. THIRDHOME reserves the right to operate an adventure either on an exclusive private basis (for Members only), or a mixed participation group of Exchange members, Adventure Club members, their family and friends, including any participants that may wish to join through our preferred travel partners and tour operation brands.
PARTICIPANT REQUESTED CANCELLATIONS
- Name changes are allowed after deposit up until final payment. After final payment, name changes are not permitted.
- Cancellations after Deposit has been paid –
- THIRDHOME’s standard policy states ALL DEPOSITS are NON-REFUNDABLE
- If THIRDHOME is able to rebook your spot with another participant depending on the individual travel operator and/or preferred partner’s terms and conditions and their individual policies regarding cancellations, then a refund of the deposit amount paid (minus a $150 per person cancellation fee, plus any Travel Partner Supplier penalties would apply if applicable)
- If a Member desires to roll-over their paid deposit funds as “future Adventure Credit” into any other Adventure trip/destination, then please discuss this with the team to determine if this might be a possibility in lieu of losing your paid deposit funds.
- After Final Payment(s) have been paid and received by THIRDHOME from a traveler, these are then submitted to our individual travel operator/tour provider partners for processing, at which stage all funds paid become 100% NON-REFUNDABLE. This applies to all THIRDHOME Adventures including Custom Travel packages. We highly recommend considering the purchase of Travel Insurance (refer to this section below).

TRAVEL INSURANCE and AIRLINE TRANSPORTATION
TRAVEL INSURANCE OPTIONS
Travel Insurance is REQUIRED to participate in a THIRDHOME Adventure and must be purchased at the time of making the tour deposit. THIRDHOME Travelers have the option to purchase travel insurance through our preferred provider Allianz (OR) often depending on the unique Adventure trip supplier/vendor/tour-cruise operator, travelers may purchase insurance through these entities. In addition, Travelers may also elect to purchase with their preferred travel insurance provider of choice. THIRDHOME will require verification of your individual travel insurance purchase, should a trip cancellation request occur. If you elect not to purchase travel insurance through either THIRDHOME’s provider or your preferred travel insurance provider, you release THIRDHOME’s liability of any lost funds you may incur should a cancellation or for any other covered/non-covered reason prevent you from traveling, including the inability for a tour to operate the tour due to insolvency or any other unforeseen reasons out of our control. AIRLINE TRANSPORTATION & DESTINATION VISAS
As noted above, PLEASE DO NOT BOOK YOUR FLIGHTS UNTIL A FINAL CONFIRMATION HAS BEEN PROVIDED BY THIRDHOME ADVENTURES & CUSTOM TRAVEL. Participants are advised NOT to book airline flights/transportation, nor arrange the purchase of any destination required visas until instructed by THIRDHOME. THIRDHOME will advise all participants when air travel arrangements can be made including when visas are needed for travel, which will occur following the “Last-Call” deposit due date. THIRDHOME is not responsible for any costs associated with flight changes and/or unforeseen travel delays that result on the carrier’s part, whether it is weather related, or for any other reason. If airline tickets have been purchased whether through THIRDHOME Travel or through your own arrangements, then any cancellations or changes will incur penalties assessed by the carrier directly and/or may include reissue fees including re-faring of the price of your airline ticket changes. THIRDHOME Adventures & Custom Travel strongly recommends purchasing travel insurance to protect your trip costs.
Re-Seller of Travel Risk Assessment Terms
THIRDHOME Adventures is a re-seller of travel experiences and journeys operating in the United States; as such we reserve the right to restrict sales to participants/travelers that are citizens of high-risk countries; and/or promoting travel to destinations that are considered high-risk for US Citizens. This decision is based on many political factors including current US State Government Travel Department mandates on foreign country statuses, visa requirements and citizenship/nationality affecting where one might be traveling to. THIRDHOME Adventures reserves the right to restrict citizens that may be traveling from the updated watch list of high-risk countries where fraud occurs.
