Cuisine at the Villa showcases farm-to-table and locally sourced fresh ingredients with an ocean-inspired menu, including a delicious variety of seafood, meats (beef/chicken), along with vegetarian or other dietary restriction meals. Meals are served Family-style al fresco or indoors as a shared group gathering. When off-site exploring the charming towns, guests will have the opportunities to savor authentic tastings within some of the best local restaurants, taverns and wineries.

The Villa Dining Defined

The Seven Hills Villa’s emphasis is the quality of the food they put on the table, as they source almost entirely everything from the local farmers and producers. The villa’s olive oil is organic and of highest quality. The salt is freshly sourced from the Adriatic sea. The olives are picked from their very own 2000-year old tree in the garden (one of the oldest if not the oldest olive trees in the whole of Istria). Certain items like fish and shrimp are sourced from local salt-water farms; and the meats are all sourced from local Croatian farms. All breads, pastries and desserts served are locally baked from the best artisan bakeries. All vegetables and truffles are locally sourced and our menus are seasonally inspired.

  • Welcome Apero (Apero is short for “apéritif” in French or “aperitivo” in Italian) upon arrival, with local specialties (selection of salamis and cheeses)
  • (7) Continental style Breakfasts (self-service) – enjoy fresh baked variety of pastries and breads, muesli, cheeses, salamis/ham, homemade jams, local honeys and butter as well as local specialties each day
  • 2 Lunches in the Villa (2-courses consists of a salad and a main course)
  • 2 Dinners in the Villa (3-courses) – one Welcome Dinner, and one Goodbye Finale Dinner
  • 1 speedboat adventure to Brioni Island National Park with nibbles and drinks & a 3-course lunch at a fish restaurant in Farzana afterwards
  • Non-Alcoholic Beverages – the Villa is focused on healthy beverages and serves water, fruit juices and refreshing homemade lemonades and other house-infused fruit flavored drinks. The Villa does not stock nor serve soft-drinks like Coca-Cola, so guests can purchase these locally at the nearby grocery stores and keep them in the refrigerator.
  • OPTIONAL Alcoholic Beverage Package (with local wines and beers only) – the Villa has curated a package for our group consisting of 4-5 drinks per person per day of stay, showcasing local beers and wines – Additional Cost is: $170 USD per guest

Please note: Villa does not offer a full-service personnel staff 24/7 nor a bartender, as such guests can purchase alcoholic spirits of their choice in local grocery markets or liquor stores, to keep at the villa as desired for personal cocktails, along with any other mixers/beverages preferred. Explore Pula

This morning enjoy a self-service continental breakfast, with relaxing time at the villa and poolside or perhaps take a lovely walk by the sea. Enjoy a light lunch served at the villa. Then afterwards, your Istrian journey begins with exploring our home-base, the largest Istrian Town of Pula. You will learn its ancient Roman heritage and see the magnificent Arena – it is among the 6th largest Amphitheaters of the World and one of the best preserved. Guests will have ample time in Pula to shop and sightsee on their own. This evening enjoy dinner in Pula on your own (with our recommendations of choosing either of the lovely local restaurants in Pula – Backyard or Sophia).

Overnight at Seven Hills Villa in private Suite accommodations.

(Continental Breakfast, 2-course Lunch included this day)

excursion To Rovinj

This morning enjoy a self-service continental breakfast. Afterwards, the group will depart the Villa for the journey to Rovinj (approximately 40-minute drive). If Dubrovnik is the “Pearl of the South”, then Rovinj is the “Gem of the North”. Rovinj is possibly the most beautiful town in Istria, offering a lively town center decorated with colorful houses and overlooked by the church of the patron saint Euphemia, surrounded by 22 small picturesque islands.

Guests will have the opportunity to walk through the historic pebbled-stone streets of this charming fishing village that has become a tourist destination known for its exquisite beauty. Enjoy a lunch on your own at a lovely local restaurant with our host’s and guide’s personal recommendations depending on your preference. Perhaps afterwards treat yourself to a Croatian sladoled (ice cream), while walking in the city with free time for shopping and/or enjoy an afternoon coffee.

Afterwards, we will journey to Meneghetti, a stunning Relais & Chateau winery boutique, for a wonderful wine tasting and lovely culinary dinner. Immerse yourself in the magic of a carefully curated tasting and learn the unique Meneghetti wine story. In the heart of our winery, experience the beauty of the vineyards through its delightful sparkling white and red wines, perfectly paired with refined spreads and the finest cuts of cured delicacies and specialities.

Return to the Villa (approximately 40-minute drive), to relax and freshen up. This evening is at leisure to enjoy dining on your own in Pula town.

Overnight at Seven Hills Villa in private Suite accommodations.

(Continental Breakfast, wine tastings with 2-course Dinner included this day)

Discover Truffle Hunting & magical Villages

After enjoying a continental breakfast this morning, the group will depart the Villa for a magnificent Truffle Hunting Experience! Today you will go truffle hunting, visit a truffle museum and later enjoy a chef experience with various truffle dishes from a local family owned truffle manufacturer. Discover and find the delicious hidden underground mushroom treasure, Earth’s Majesty the “Truffle”. Our adventure begins with the Karlić family, whose third generation continues to hunt for truffles. Our friendly hosts for the day will teach you all about truffles, the tradition of truffle hunting, along with introducing their gentle truffle hunting dogs…it is two hours of pure delectable delights! Enjoy tastings of a variety of truffle products that will be prepared for you, along with a memorable lunch in beautiful surroundings, and you will have the opportunity to visit and buy truffle products in their shop.

Afterwards we journey Tomaz, a local boutique winery, to enjoy a wonderful wine tasting of five wines. We will then continue onward to Motovun, a very special place to visit…this magical and tranquil hilltop haven is infused with character, charm and a Medieval past. But to get to the top requires us to stop at the bottom of the hill at the parking lot, and from there it is a short (uneven) walk upon cobbled stones to get to the city center. Enjoy picture moments, taking in Motovun’s medieval Venetian Renaissance architecture and marveling at the magnificent views of the surrounding Miran Valley. Stroll the art galleries, see Mario Andretti’s childhood home (yes, the famous race-car driver who was born here), and soak in the enchantment and take in the good karma that this location oozes. There is a local belief that Motovun sits on geographic ley lines (also called dragon lines) which can be a positive force for health and wellbeing. Amateur archaeologists have determined these lines, so they are not scientifically verified. Stonehenge and other monolithic sites around the world are also considered to be located on ley lines.

Then we journey onward to visit Groznjan, known as the “Town of Artists”, this hilltop town is a small Medieval jewel, home to almost 30 local galleries set against a backdrop of cobblestone streets and ancient architecture. It’s picture-perfect ambiance is a setting right out of a Hollywood film, only it’s the real thing! The town offers a vibrant summer-culture and is a haven to many artists who live and work here. Enjoy time strolling and more fabulous picture moments.

This evening since the day ends with Groznjan, we highly recommend having dinner here at Mama Maria’s (dinner is on your own), with its expertly curated local cuisine and its hillside terrace with storybook views.

Return to the Villa for the evening. Overnight at Seven Hills Villa in private Suite accommodations.

(Continental Breakfast, Truffle Hunt Tasting & Lunch, local wine tastings with nibbles included this day)

Encounter Historic Hum, Kotli & Bale

This morning enjoy a self-service continental breakfast, with relaxing time at the villa and poolside or perhaps take a lovely walk by the sea. Enjoy a light lunch served at the villa. Then afterwards, the group will depart to explore the very little town of Hum, also known as the “smallest town in the world”, which is a unique cultural experience. Although it does not take long to visit Hum, it will be memorable, with only 52 citizens, a restaurant, postal office, the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary church, a Glagolitic Alley, and a historic bell tower with panoramic views from the top (when opened). It is here that you will taste one of the finest liquors made in Europe, composed from various fruits, herbs and nuts. Our personal favorite is teranino, a unique liquor made from red wine from the Teran grape variety—hence the name. This liqueur is usually sweetened and flavored with various botanicals such as cinnamon, cloves, star anise, lemon, vanilla, or fennel.

Then depart for the nearby town of Kotli, known for its beautiful waterfalls and where the Mirna River cascades into natural pools, offering a picturesque and refreshing spot for more photo opportunities. Afterwards journey to San Tommaso winery, near the village of Golaš, known for its restored 150-year-old stone winery building which houses modern stainless steel tanks, creating a “new world meets old world” atmosphere. It’s situated in a beautiful Istrian landscape on an estate with vineyards and olive groves, and it is here you will enjoy a wine tasting, followed by a lovely group dinner in the nearby village of Bale. Bale is made entirely of stone, and is a considered a real hidden gem in Croatia, which the tourist mainstream does not know about yet. Here the group will enjoy a lovely dinner together in a delightful local restaurant.

Return to the Villa for the evening. Overnight at Seven Hills Villa in private Suite accommodations.

(Continental Breakfast, 2-course Lunch at Villa, local wine tastings with nibbles & Group Dinner included this day)

Visit The Olive oil Museum & Tastings

After enjoying a continental breakfast this morning, the group will depart the Villa to visit the Museum of Olive Oil. Did you know Istria has some of the best olive oils? Even though the varietal productions are small, this allows an in-depth focus on the quality of the oils being made. Enjoy an educational visit to the Olive Oil Museum and taste the quality artisan olive oils produced in this region, as you nibble on Tavolata-style culinary treats. Afterwards enjoy a light lunch in town together as a group at a lovely local restaurant (not included, at own personal pay).

Return to the Villa in the late afternoon to relax and freshen up. This evening is at leisure to enjoy as you wish and dine in Pula town on your own (our recommendation is to go as a group to either the Backyard local restaurant or Boccaporta).

Overnight at Seven Hills Villa in private Suite accommodations.

(Continental Breakfast, Olive oil tastings with nibbles included this day)

Journey to Brijuni Island National park

Following a continental self-serve breakfast this morning, the group will depart for the port of Bunarina, to board a private speedboat to the Brijuni Island National Park (also known as Brioni). One aboard the speedboat, enjoy light nibbles and drinks. One cannot come to Istria and not visit Brioni, the famous Titos island with peacocks, zebras and deer that you can explore with golf carts. Once on the island, enjoy free time to explore as you wish with free time for swimming and sunbathing. To learn more about Brijuni Island National Park – https://croatia.hr/en-gb/nature/brijuni – and also:  https://www.np-brijuni.hr/en

Depart the island by speedboat to Fazana where you will enjoy a delightful 3-course late-lunch at a local restaurant. We will then journey back to the Villa in late afternoon, with free time.

Freshen up and this evening the group will gather for a relaxing evening with nibbles and a finale light dinner at the Villa.

Overnight at Seven Hills Villa in private Suite accommodations.

(Continental Breakfast, nibbles and drinks aboard speedboat, 3-Course lunch in Fazana, Group Finale Dinner at Villa included this day)
