Distinguished by its Berber, Arabian and European cultural influences, Morocco opens its ancient and new world wonders to all who visit. On a walking tour of Fes, discover one of the holiest cities in the world with an insider to learn its mystical lore and stroll the ancient souks (markets) selling tempting hand-crafted artisan wares. Venture out through the Sahara Desert into a luxurious and magical Berber glamping tented-oasis. While in the Sahara, cross dunes by camelback with a Berber guide and visit a local farmer and wandering nomadic community. Relax in the Dades Valley, a mountain paradise below the High Atlas mountains that has panoramic views sprinkled with friendly Berber villages. As the Adventure continues, explore Dades Gorge, one of the most spectacular canyons in the world, and journey the rugged “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs” to the UNESCO World Heritage site of the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou fortress. Wander the mesmerizing labyrinth paths of Marrakech’s medieval quarters of its Medina. Encounter authentic Moroccan hospitality and taste the myriad of flavors of Morocco during an interactive cooking class and culinary workshop at a women’s cooperative. During this memorable Adventure, you will walk in the footsteps of Yves St Laurent through the floral paths of the Jardin Marjorelle that inspired the designer. Experience a festive finale dinner at an opulent historic palace. Enchanting Morocco welcomes all Adventurers on an extraordinary journey filled with rich history, heartwarming people, memorable ambiances and breathtaking Saharan hues.

This is a private THIRDHOME small-group tour with a maximum occupancy of 18.  Our group size is kept small, allowing this Adventure to be a more engaging and rewarding experience for participants. On this active, immersive journey, travelers will connect with the culture of Morocco in an authentic and more intimate way.

Activity Level

To experience this unique destination, you will need to be able to participate in physical activities such as longer walking tours, walking over uneven terrain, climbing stairs and various time-period lengths of standing (between 1-2 hrs). You can navigate hills and uneven ground, climb onboard various modes of transportation (tuk-tuk/rickshaw, cable car, camel, etc), and adapt to changes in elevation. You can expect some longer days with your expert guide team, balanced with free time to recharge or set out on your own to explore as you wish. Some of the touring days may be longer, with select included group activities in addition to occasional meals with your group.

On this captivating Adventure through a land of centuries-old culture and customs, discover Morocco, the “Land of Sunset” and “Gateway to Africa”. Your journey begins this evening in the scenic harbor city of Casablanca, as you join your fellow travelers in a culinary dining experience filled with the aromas of coriander, allspice and ginger in a traditional Moroccan group dinner.  Overnight accommodations at Barcelo Anfa Casablanca. After breakfast, depart Casablanca for a memorable road trip into three extraordinary ancient cities – Rabat, Meknes and Fes. The first stop will be to gaze upon the intricate artistry of colorful ceramic tile and hand-carved stone during a visit to the breathtaking Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca. We continue onward to Rabat, Morocco’s capital, to visit the historical landmarks of the Hassan Tower and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V. This epitome of modern Moroccan design and its ornate woodwork, marble, and bronze ornamentations represent the remarkable craftsmanship that was fit for Moroccan kings and royal family members. Then, it’s on to Meknes, an imperial city and UNESCO World Heritage site, where we will tour the ancient door, the significant monument of Bab El Mansour. We will continue on the tour to visit the historic gate, the Bab El Khamis. Arrive at a Riad just in time for dinner, prepared by local women known as ‘dadas’. Dine on traditional Moroccan cuisine from family recipes passed down through many generations. Overnight accommodations at The Palais Sheherazade & Spa. (Breakfast and dinner included)


After breakfast, discover enchanting Fes, one of the holiest cities in the world. With a UNESCO protected medina, it is one of Morocco’s top medieval gems. Learn its history as a government seat, and step into its lore filled with philosophy, medicine and religion. Step back in time on an eye-opening exploration of the centuries-old Medersa Bou Inania, the Jewish Quarter, city ramparts, and the palace gates. On a walking tour of the 9th-century medina, wander in the alleyways and stalls of this ancient marketplace. At the famous leather tanneries, watch as artisan craftsmen tan and dye leather among the honeycomb of colorful vats. Enjoy the late afternoon and evening free to relax and explore as you wish.  Overnight accommodations at The Palais Sheherazade & Spa. (Breakfast included)


Depart Fes after breakfast and journey across some of Morocco’s most breathtaking desert landscapes on the way to the Sahara. En route, we will pause in the charming town of Ifrane to bask in majestic views of the Middle Atlas Mountains. We will continue onward to the oasis town of Erfoud, known as “The Door to the Desert”.  Embark on a 4×4 vehicle journey across the dunes to a luxurious tented Berber camp for a magical 2-night stay in the Sahara Desert near Merzouga. Enjoy a memorable group dinner in the Berber cultural tradition. Overnight accommodations at The Cafe du Sud Bivouac Camp. (Breakfast and dinner included)


Rise early, enjoy breakfast, and watch the sun illuminate the Sahara in stunning hues of orange, yellow and red. Begin the day by traversing the dunes to the Oasis of Hassi Byed.  Here you will have the opportunity to meet with a local farmer to discuss the challenges of survival in the desert before traveling to a nearby village to experience traditional North African Gnawa music. Continuing onward, enjoy a local lunch and encounter with a nomadic community that travels across the desert with the changing of the seasons. Return to camp in the late afternoon, as the sun sets over the dunes. This evening, reflect on the serenity and beauty of the desert under a tapestry of twinkling stars. Overnight accommodations at The Cafe du Sud Bivouac Camp. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner included)


In the morning, caravan via camelback to the edge of the desert and marvel at the sunrise over the sand dunes as it illuminates the horizon in extraordinary hues. Return to the camp and in the new days’ light enjoy breakfast and then begin the journey by vehicle to one of the most spectacular canyons in the world, the Todra Gorge.   We continue onward to marvel at Morocco’s “Grand Canyon,” Dades Gorge, and Boumalne du Dades, where the golden sun lights up the gorge’s river valleys, palm sanctuaries and burnished mud-brick homes. This evening, enjoy a delicious local Moroccan meal together with the group.  Overnight accommodations at Hotel Xaluca Dades. (Breakfast and dinner included)


Following breakfast, journey down the rugged less-traveled “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs,” where turreted fortresses rise up like sandcastles along this ancient trading route. Arrive at the UNESCO World Heritage site of the Ksar of Ait-Ben-Haddou and discover this remarkable group of earthen buildings surrounded by high defensive walls and corner towers. This striking Moroccan architecture was erected during pre-Saharan habitation in the region. We will continue onward to a stop at a local cooperative on the drive through the Valley of Roses. This meandering trail of varied hues of green and dense patchwork of palms, olives and fig trees will reveal colorful field flowers, pink roses and red poppies. The ochre-hued turrets of kasbahs in the remote village and the snow-capped Atlas Mountains in the backdrop make for a stunning photo opportunity. The journey continues along the Tizi n’Tichka Pass in the High Atlas Mountains, a scenic route through lush oasis valleys, imposing mountains and several Berber villages before arriving in the exotic city of Marrakech. This evening, relax and enjoy dinner on your own. Overnight accommodations at Es Saadi Palace Hotel.  (Breakfast included)


This morning enjoy breakfast and set out to explore Marrakech. Marvel at its majestic mosques and palaces, bustling souks and artisan studios. Visit the ancient El Bahia Palace, whose architecture is a distinct blend of both Islamic and Moroccan styles. We will continue onward to explore the vibrant Jewish Mellah, the majestic 12th-century Koutoubia Mosque and pass the Royal Palace on a tour of the ancient city wall. This afternoon its “Your Choice” to choose an excursion you desire to experience – opt into a visit to the Jardin Majorelle gardens and the Berber Museum, two iconic sites that showcase beauty and ingenuity of Morocco’s cultural heritage (OR) opt to explore the Musee Yves Saint Laurent and gain an inside-look at his studio where you will discover how the colors and textures of Morocco inspired this iconic designer. This evening, consider adding the optional Premium Experience, a Marrakech At Night Tour. Overnight accommodations at Es Saadi Palace Hotel.  (Breakfast included)


Following breakfast, join a local women’s cooperative in an interactive Moroccan cooking class. Tucked away into a secret posh era of time, visit Le Jardin, a complex of stately architectural Arab-Andalusian and Moroccan palaces filled with gardens. Here we will source our own herbs and vegetables and learn the secret to making the country’s most celebrated fragrant dish prepared in ceramic or clay cookware: the tagine. Tonight, an unforgettable dining experience awaits you behind the doors of an opulent palace. After breakfast this morning, our group will depart the hotel and board the bus for a group transfer back to Casablanca by mid-day timeframe (time to be determined).  You will be dropped off at the Casablanca airport for check-in of your return flight home. Please Note – we recommend a departure flight no earlier than 2-3PM onward to your next destination. (Breakfast included)

Marrakech by Night Tour | $95 per person | Duration: 3 Hours – With a local insider guide, embark on an exploration of the bustling Jemaa el Fna main square and market of Marrakech, as it comes alive at night. Prepare for a sensory overload as you walk through the square on this immersive guided tour – smell the intoxicating culinary creations from the diverse culinary food stalls and listen to the rhythms of local musicians and entertainers. Storytellers often have crowds around them listening to ancient tales passed down from generations. Enjoy time on your own to explore the square. Perhaps you will visit one of the local fortune tellers to have your future told to you or listen to the hypnotic tunes of the snake charmers. Later, enjoy a traditional dinner at a local restaurant off of the square and toast to your evening in Marrakech.  Please note a minimum of 5 passengers is required. Transportation is included.

Any traveler that elects not to purchase travel insurance, by either of the above means, agrees to release THIRDHOME from liability for any loss of funds incurred due to the cancellation of a specific THIRDHOME Adventure as a result of, but not limited to, an act of God, a failure to purchase travel insurance, the cessation of business with respect to a tour operator/ground operator, the failure of a tour operator/ground operator to refund consumer deposits or payments within 120 days following the cancellation of a THIRDHOME Adventure or a material failure to complete performance of a THIRDHOME Adventure.
